Media
You play a very important role in the success of this campaign.  As with all campaigns the media directly influences how large the movement becomes by how and if they report on it.  There is a great need for the issue of hearing health to be covered.  Currently, 1 in 6 Australians experience hearing loss and this is predicted to rise to as much as 1 in 4 by 2050.  The costs of hearing loss to Australia were estimated at $11.75 billion in 2005, which represented 1.4 per cent of Australia's then GDP*.

Hearing health is a major health issue which touches the lives of most Australians in one way or another, yet as a public health issue it is not ranked as a national health priority.  Australians with hearing loss must live with the paradox that their disability is so widespread, and yet there is a generally low level of awareness and understanding within the community* - the media can change this.

There are no standards in place to protect patrons within loud music venues like clubs and pubs, whereas in other industries with noise just as loud, there are strict noise regulations that must be followed.  Take action now and support this campaign.
